First performed in 2001 at Drill Hall in London, Designs for Living is a powerful, modern love story that challenges conventions of identity and sexuality.
Terese and Louise are best friends, the former is a lesbian and the latter is straight. JJ is a friend of a friend that the pair meet at a party Terese is invited to. Sexual tension that had been simmering between the best friends explodes over their mutual desire for JJ. Meanwhile, JJ wrestles with androgynous/gender expansive identity in a lesbian social scene which doesn’t quite have words for them yet.

This show is immersive, meaning the audience will be intermingling with the performers. Seating will be informal, there will be some chairs and surfaces to sit on, as well as cushions on the floor and standing room.
